One month in Lagunitas, CA. What this Naturalist got up to.

Cozy and cute Lagunitas, CA was our home base for one month this winter. Here’s some highlights of where we explored and what nature we observed.

Eeeeeeee! Finally spotted multiple flowering cacti this weekend! Woot! Woot! 🌼
Eeeeeee! What a CUTIE! It was so exciting to observe this Desert Banded Gecko, Coleonyx variegatus ssp. variegatus on yesterday's morning walk. What a TREAT!
Gosh these have to be the FUNKIEST plants in the desert. Or at least in the running for the top spot. I just love these big goofy Ocotillos SO MUCH!
Just another incredible desert-dwelling Angiosperm! This Ratany, believed to be Krameria bicolor, (White Ratany) is truly a stunner! WOWZA!
Ghost Flower (Mohavea confertiflora) is definitely in the runnings for my favorite desert-dwelling flower I've found so far. Its totally BANANAS that this plant was flourishing in such a gravely dry spot, seemingly blooming out of crusty dust. So neat.
💛Eeeee! What gorgeous little yellow flowers! I've seen the Desert Trumpet (Eriogonum inflatum) in a couple of dry habitats throughout California, but never flowering before! The delicate hairy flowers and lovely exerted stamens are so scrumptiously golden yellowy-green but so teeeeeny tiny!
