Tidepools are truly a place of endless entertainment and wonder. Once again I was stumped what this yellow succulent fluff ball was. I never thought it would be a parasite!

Want to hear about what the heck Dock Fouling is? Or how the hell do I take bug photos? Want to make more plant or frog friends like this California Tree Frog?
Through research and hard work, we've managed to find lots of great rare or challenging to find plants over the last two weeks in NorCal. Most of the time we have a location with a specific plant to find, but sometimes we get lucky.
Woof woof, red flowers are a POPPIN these days! Simply stunning!
Mmmmmm totally giving me Ireland vibes, but nope just another gorgeous slice of California!
This weekend's botanical adventures were exhausting and all over the place. We went searching for fire followers, rarities, and local specialties but were stymied by private property, construction, missed alarms, and hot steep trails that zapped our energy. BUT! We found some gems and met some fellow nature nutheads. I was so glad to finally observe this California Flannelbush (Fremontodendron californicum) in its native habitat. GAH the yellow succulent leaves are totally my jam.
Why hello gorgeous! Nice to meet you Miss Bitterroot!
